The Louisiana Renaissance Festival

Family Friendly fun in the Royal Village of Albright

By Calissa Folse November 9, 2022

When fall approaches and the weather on the Northshore starts to get a little cooler, my family and I start to look forward to the annual Louisiana Renaissance Festival. We love visiting the Royal Village of Albright only a short drive away from our home on the Northshore. The festival is held from 9:45 am to 6:00 pm in Hammond the first weekend in November to the second weekend in December. Costumes are encouraged but not required and every week there is a different theme. Check out their website for the theme of the week so that you and your family can match your attire to that week's theme. The cast do a fantastic job keeping you immersed in the experience. Your kids will be amazed at the sights and sounds of the 16th century. The atmosphere is truly magical and should not be missed if you live on the Northshore. We highly recommend that you and your family visit the Royal Village of Albright as my family as immensely enjoyed our times together at the Louisiana Renaissance Festival. You will find additional information about the Louisiana Renaissance Festival below. You can click here to visit their website for more details about their event.

Tickets

You can purchase tickets here or at the entrance to the festival. No need to print them out. The tickets can be scanned from your phone.

Admission

  • Adult advance admission - $25.00 and $30 same day admission
  • Youth advance admission (5-12 years old) - $15.00 and $20 same day admission
  • Children under 5 years old are free.

Food

There are many different food options to chose from that everyone will be able to find something to enjoy. Kid friendly options like hot dogs, pizza and hamburgers are available as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Food booths are spread throughout the entire village.

Tips

We recommend having cash during your visit. There are games and experiences throughout the village that only take cash. There are ATMs available.

The festival is open rain or shine and the village is mostly dirt and gravel and can become muddy when it rains. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes during your visit.

There are some experiences and shows that might not be appropriate for your whole family which are noted in the village. We recommend asking the cast if you have any concerns about the experience or show.

We hope that you have a great time when visiting the Louisiana Renaissance Festival.
